Implants
Dental implants
One tooth, several, or a whole arch, replaced with a fixed solution.
Implants replace the root as well as the tooth. The teeth that go on them are designed and made in the practice's own laboratory.
Dr. Boyajian's interest in implants started at home: his father, having lost his teeth, made himself denture after denture looking for a comfortable set, and told him implant dentistry would one day reach the States. He went on to train on the Brånemark, Steri-Oss and Core-Vent systems, completed a year at the University of Florida Center for Dental Implants, and interviewed Professor Brånemark himself in 1994.
Reasons people come in
- Replace one tooth without cutting down the teeth beside it
- Replace several back teeth with a fixed bridge instead of a removable partial
- Replace all the teeth in an arch with a fixed bridge
- Make an existing denture stable and secure
- Help preserve the jawbone and the shape of the face
